CloudNest support
How can I help?
Brent Gaddis provides support for CloudNest through the monitored gaddisapps@icloud.com address. CloudNest support covers folder access, backup destinations, schedules, snapshots, restores, storage, and optional iCloud Drive destinations. Email gaddisapps@icloud.com with the CloudNest version, macOS version, destination type, and the exact error with personal paths and filenames redacted.
Common questions
Why does CloudNest say a source or destination needs access again?
macOS can invalidate or revoke a previously selected folder bookmark. Choose the source or destination again and confirm any Desktop, Documents, Downloads, removable-drive, or network-volume permission requested by macOS. If the destination is an iCloud Drive folder, also make sure it is downloaded and available on this Mac.
Why did a scheduled backup not run?
Check that CloudNest is allowed to launch at login if you depend on automatic scheduling, that the Mac was awake, and that the selected destination was mounted and writable. Review the local activity and error details. A network or removable destination that is disconnected cannot receive a snapshot.
How should I verify a restore?
Restore to a separate location first, open representative files, and compare them with the source before relying on the backup. CloudNest cannot guarantee recovery from every storage, permission, corruption, hardware, or provider failure. Keep another independent backup for important data.
