Why is weather, tide, sun, or marine information stale or unavailable?

The app depends on public providers and network access. Providers can delay, revise, rate-limit, move, or stop a feed. Refresh the page, check your connection, and compare important conditions with the official source. Cached information may be shown temporarily when a provider is unavailable.

Why will a webcam or linked video not play?

Webcams and videos are operated by outside providers and can be offline, geographically restricted, changed, or incompatible. Try the provider link again later. Provider pages may keep their own cookies or website storage inside the app’s web view.

Can I use the app as the only source for swimming, boating, surf, or storm decisions?

No. It is informational only. Conditions change quickly and third-party data can be delayed or wrong. Follow posted beach flags, lifeguards, local officials, National Weather Service alerts, marine advisories, and emergency instructions.

Who handles App Store billing or refund requests?

Apple processes App Store purchases and eligible refund requests and does not provide Destin Florida Beach Companion with your full payment-card details. Use Apple’s Report a Problem service or Apple Support for a billing or refund request. Contact Destin Florida Beach Companion support for an app-function problem.

How do I check or clear stale condition data?

Pull to refresh, then inspect the displayed source, timestamp, freshness badge, and any provider error. In Settings > Data Debug, choose Clear cached conditions. Reset source order separately if priorities are wrong. A failed refresh can reuse cached values without a hard expiry, so cached information may be older than the label suggests. Verify critical conditions with official alerts and on-site authorities.
