Overview
MapBridge Pro processes the map links and locations you choose so it can convert them for your chosen maps app. Preferences and optional recent locations stay on your device. The app has no account, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Expanding short links and opening maps can contact Apple, Google, or Waze. Feedback reaches Brent Gaddis only when you choose to send it.
Locations and links you choose
MapBridge Pro reads a link, address, place name, coordinates, full Plus Code, or directions link only when you enter or share it, use a Shortcuts action, or enable its Safari extension on a supported page. The app converts supported inputs on your device. It does not request device location permission, maintain an account, or send your conversion history to a Brent Gaddis server.
What stays on your device
Your preferred maps app is stored in an Apple App Group so the app and its extensions can use the same choice. The app also stores appearance preferences and on-device counts used to time review requests. If Save Recent Locations is on, MapBridge Pro keeps up to 30 locations you opened or copied in its app container. You can delete individual entries, clear the list, or turn the feature off; turning it off clears the list. Recent locations do not sync or become available to the Share Sheet or Safari extension. If you grant the Safari extension access to another website for map links, it remembers only that site’s HTTPS origin locally, not the full page address.
Short links and maps providers
Expanding a recognized Apple Maps or Google Maps short link sends a limited HTTPS request for that link to the originating maps service and may expose the link and ordinary network information to that provider. When you open a place or directions, your chosen maps app or its website receives the converted location or route. Apple, Google, and Waze operate those services under their own privacy terms. Different maps apps can calculate different routes and arrival times.
Safari and Shortcuts
The Safari extension handles supported map page URLs only when Safari grants the relevant site access. It passes a supported link to the app’s extension for local conversion and may keep the last conversion in extension memory briefly so you can include it in an optional problem report. You can disable the extension or revoke site permissions in Safari settings. Siri and Shortcuts actions process the location or link you provide and return the converted result to the workflow you run.
Feedback and support
If you choose to send feedback from the app, you review the message before sending it through Mail or another share destination. It can include the text you write, a screenshot you select, app version, device and OS information, optional diagnostics, and map link details only when you approve their inclusion. The receiving mail or share service processes what you send under its own terms. Brent Gaddis uses messages and reply addresses received for support and correspondence. Those messages remain with the email provider until deleted; there is no stated automatic deletion schedule. The website contact form has separate disclosures in the website privacy notice.
Your choices and questions
You can keep using the app without enabling Safari, creating a Shortcut, saving recent locations, or sending feedback. Clear recent locations in Settings, or turn off their storage. Removing the app removes local app data according to the device’s operating-system behavior. To ask about a support message or request its deletion from Brent Gaddis’s correspondence, use the contact link on this page or email support@brentgaddis.com.
