Overview
Myrtle Beach Companion presents fixed-location public beach information without requiring an account or the device’s location. Myrtle Beach Companion is a general-audience app and is not directed to children. Brent Gaddis provides Myrtle Beach Companion and is the data controller for the app information described here. App information and location
The app uses fixed Myrtle Beach-area coordinates or selected source locations. It does not request the device’s precise location or create a user account. It can keep cached condition values, source metadata, and source preferences on the device.
Public and linked providers
Myrtle Beach information can come from public condition services, SafeBeachDay or GraphCDN-delivered resources, and webcam or video operators. When the app contacts a provider, that provider necessarily receives ordinary request information such as an IP address, time, and device/network headers under its own policy.
Web views and provider storage
Some condition, webcam, video, or source pages open in a persistent web view. Those outside pages may receive network and referrer information and may use cookies or other local website storage under their own policies. The app developer does not control those providers' content or retention.
Retention and your controls
Cached conditions and preferences remain on the device until they are replaced or the app is removed. Source-priority preferences can be reset in the app; this does not necessarily erase cached condition values. Outside providers retain request or web-view information under their own policies. The app does not maintain a developer-held account.
Website, support, privacy requests, children, and policy changes
Myrtle Beach Companion’s app-data practices are described above and are separate from its pages on brentgaddis.com. Those pages use first-party aggregate analytics operated through Cloudflare. The site counts page views and allowlisted actions and keeps coarse source, country, device, browser, operating-system, engagement, performance, and reliability totals. It does not store raw analytics events, visitor or session identities, raw or hashed IP addresses, cookie or local-storage visitor IDs, full user agents, full referrers or URLs, form contents, arbitrary text, or a person’s raw click history. Country and source cells below five are suppressed, and aggregates are retained for up to 24 months. Cloudflare still processes request and network metadata to deliver and protect the site. If you contact support, the website, Cloudflare Turnstile, Cloudflare’s delivery services, and the email provider process the app selection, request type, reply email, subject, message, security signals, and delivery metadata you submit. Form contents are delivered to Brent’s monitored mailbox and are not written to website analytics or a website message database. Support email is retained only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain security and support records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. Do not submit passwords, recovery keys, government identifiers, payment-card data, or unrelated sensitive content. The website does not use cross-site behavioral advertising or sell or share personal information for that purpose, so browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change its behavior. Myrtle Beach Companion is offered to a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If Brent learns that a child supplied personal information through a developer-controlled channel without required consent, he will take reasonable steps to delete it. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide access, correction, deletion, or appeal rights; use the privacy-request form or email support@brentgaddis.com. Identity may be verified, and requests will be handled as applicable law requires. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, with additional notice or consent when required.
Fixed location, providers, cache, and embedded pages
Myrtle Beach Companion does not request your device location. It sends the app’s fixed destination coordinates and ordinary request metadata to the weather, marine, tide, sun, beach, camera, and video providers named in the app. Providers can keep request logs under their own policies, and source data can be delayed, revised, incomplete, or unavailable. The app stores provider values, source URLs and labels, confidence or error details, timestamps, source priorities, and theme choices locally. Cached results can persist until cleared. Embedded camera or video pages also receive network requests; the reviewed camera view can retain third-party cookies or website storage. Myrtle Beach Companion’s fishing and condition summaries are informational and may use incomplete or cached data. They are not official, personalized, or a safety determination. Do not rely on the app as the only source for emergencies, navigation, swimming, boating, fishing, or weather decisions.
