Overview
RemoteLens Pro connects nearby devices using Apple Multipeer Connectivity with transport encryption required. It does not require a RemoteLens account or route the camera session through a Brent Gaddis server. RemoteLens Pro is a general-audience app and is not directed to children. Brent Gaddis provides RemoteLens Pro and is the data controller for the app information described here. The monitored privacy contact is support@brentgaddis.com.
Camera and connection information
RemoteLens can process live camera frames, camera controls and metadata, optional microphone audio, a locally generated installation identifier, device name, and trusted-device history. Live previews are held for the session. Captures are saved to the camera device’s Photos library when requested, and trusted-device history stays locally until cleared.
Direct encrypted connection
Nearby devices communicate using Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity with required transport encryption. Apple operating-system services facilitate discovery and transport, but RemoteLens does not route the camera session through a Brent Gaddis server.
Permissions and recipients
Camera, Microphone, Motion, Photos Add, Local Network, and Bonjour access are used only for the features that require them. A paired controller can see the live preview and send supported controls during the session, so trust only devices and people you recognize. Anyone with access to a saved capture can copy or share it independently.
Retention and your controls
The app can remember up to 12 trusted devices until you forget them or remove the app. In-memory previews clear with the session or process. Temporary recordings are designed for deletion after processing, while requested captures remain in Apple Photos until you delete them there. Recipient devices or backups may retain copies outside RemoteLens.
Website, support, privacy requests, children, and policy changes
RemoteLens Pro’s app-data practices are described above and are separate from its pages on brentgaddis.com. Those pages use first-party aggregate analytics operated through Cloudflare. The site counts page views and allowlisted actions and keeps coarse source, country, device, browser, operating-system, engagement, performance, and reliability totals. It does not store raw analytics events, visitor or session identities, raw or hashed IP addresses, cookie or local-storage visitor IDs, full user agents, full referrers or URLs, form contents, arbitrary text, or a person’s raw click history. Country and source cells below five are suppressed, and aggregates are retained for up to 24 months. Cloudflare still processes request and network metadata to deliver and protect the site. If you contact support, the website, Cloudflare Turnstile, Cloudflare’s delivery services, and the email provider process the app selection, request type, reply email, subject, message, security signals, and delivery metadata you submit. Form contents are delivered to Brent’s monitored mailbox and are not written to website analytics or a website message database. Support email is retained only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain security and support records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. Do not submit passwords, recovery keys, government identifiers, payment-card data, or unrelated sensitive content. The website does not use cross-site behavioral advertising or sell or share personal information for that purpose, so browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change its behavior. RemoteLens Pro is offered to a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If Brent learns that a child supplied personal information through a developer-controlled channel without required consent, he will take reasonable steps to delete it. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide access, correction, deletion, or appeal rights; use the privacy-request form or email support@brentgaddis.com. Identity may be verified, and requests will be handled as applicable law requires. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, with additional notice or consent when required.
Nearby session data and saved media
RemoteLens uses an encryption-required Apple Multipeer session and local Bonjour discovery, not a developer server. It can exchange reduced JPEG previews and thumbnails, commands, app/protocol versions, a per-install identifier, chosen device name, capabilities, battery/free-storage/microphone/thermal/focus/exposure/recording telemetry, and trusted-device state. Full originals remain on the Camera device and save only through Photos when authorized and successful. A remote participant can still screenshot or record previews. Forget Trusted Devices on both devices to clear trusted installation/device-name history; uninstalling does not remove Photos media.
Permissions, consent, and safety
Camera access captures images; microphone access is used only when recording video audio; Photos add-only access saves on the Camera device; motion can support horizon features; Local Network and Bonjour find the nearby peer. Keep both devices foregrounded and use compatible versions. You are responsible for notice, permission, recording consent, privacy, publicity, and other rights for people or property captured. RemoteLens is not a covert-surveillance, security, emergency, or guaranteed monitoring service.
