NightKeep support
How can I help?
Brent Gaddis provides support for NightKeep through the monitored gaddisapps@icloud.com address. NightKeep support covers vault unlock, recovery drives, imports, exports, trash, permanent deletion, decoy access, and legacy-vault migration. Email gaddisapps@icloud.com with the app and OS versions plus a redacted error description. Never email passwords, recovery-drive contents, decrypted files, private filenames, or vault data.
Common questions
Can support recover a lost NightKeep password?
No. The developer does not have your password or vault key. Use a valid recovery drive if you created one and follow the in-app recovery flow. A recovery drive is sensitive bearer material: anyone who has it may be able to unlock the associated vault, so store it separately and securely.
What happens to originals, exports, and items in trash?
Imported encrypted copies remain in the vault. Remove Originals is optional and deletes a selected source only after a verified import; confirm you have the copy you intend before using it. Decrypted exports live outside NightKeep and must be protected or deleted separately. Trashed vault items remain recoverable until you empty trash or permanently delete them.
Does NightKeep guarantee absolute secrecy or forensic deletion?
No. NightKeep uses encryption and best-effort cleanup, but no app can promise absolute security, filesystem deniability, or recovery after credential loss or storage damage. Legacy vaults may have older plaintext metadata. Back up irreplaceable files safely and consider the security of exported files, previews, backups, and the Mac itself.
