Overview
VirtualCam Pro copies selected images into local app storage, renders a 1280×720 image feed through a macOS camera extension and shared app-group container, and stores scene settings locally. The reviewed version does not use a real camera, microphone, screen recording, account, developer cloud, analytics, advertising, purchases, or notifications. Receiving apps and participants control anything they record or retain. Brent Gaddis provides VirtualCam Pro. It is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. Selected images and local copies
VirtualCam Pro reads only images you select, drag, or paste and copies them into Application Support folders for backgrounds, avatars, and scene assets. It stores scene names, selected asset references, text and sticker overlays, headlines, badges, tickers, positions, and preferences in local UserDefaults. Moving or deleting the original image does not delete the app copy. Imported images and scene text can contain personal or identifying content; use only material you have permission and rights to display.
Receiving apps and participants
When you select VirtualCam Pro as a camera, the receiving conferencing, recording, or streaming app and its service can transmit, record, screenshot, analyze, and retain the rendered feed under their own policies. Meeting participants can also capture it. VirtualCam Pro cannot recall or delete those copies. You are responsible for copyright, publicity, privacy, notice, and consent obligations for images, text, and people represented in the feed.
Deletion and residual storage
Remove the camera extension first in VirtualCam Pro > Settings > Camera, approve the system change, quit receiving apps, and restart if requested. Then delete imported items and scenes with in-app controls and move the app to Trash. Removing the extension alone does not delete local media or state. Deleting a scene or image overlay can leave referenced copies in Scene Assets. After extension removal, support can guide cleanup of the sandbox and shared group container. Backups, receiving-app recordings, screenshots, and recipient copies remain separately.
Local-only service boundary
No account, CloudKit sync, developer backend, network service, advertising SDK, third-party analytics, purchase flow, notification feature, or media export was found in the reviewed version. macOS and Apple still process App Store distribution, system-extension approval, file access, app-group storage, backups, and receiving-app camera authorization under their own terms.
Security and compatibility limits
VirtualCam Pro does not guarantee compatibility with every receiving app, continuous output, motion video, or deletion of every cached copy. The virtual feed is an image scene, not a live camera, microphone, screen capture, identity-verification, or security system. Preview the feed, close sensitive scenes, turn off the keep-running setting when appropriate, and verify the receiving app before joining or recording.
Website, support, privacy requests, children, and policy changes
VirtualCam Pro’s app-data practices are described above and are separate from its pages on brentgaddis.com. Those pages use first-party aggregate analytics operated through Cloudflare. The site counts page views and allowlisted actions and keeps coarse source, country, device, browser, operating-system, engagement, performance, and reliability totals. It does not store raw analytics events, visitor or session identities, raw or hashed IP addresses, cookie or local-storage visitor IDs, full user agents, full referrers or URLs, form contents, arbitrary text, or a person’s raw click history. Country and source cells below five are suppressed, and aggregates are retained for up to 24 months. Cloudflare still processes request and network metadata to deliver and protect the site. If you contact support, the website, Cloudflare Turnstile, Cloudflare’s delivery services, and the email provider process the app selection, request type, reply email, subject, message, security signals, and delivery metadata you submit. Form contents are delivered to Brent’s monitored mailbox and are not written to website analytics or a website message database. Support email is retained only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain security and support records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. Do not submit passwords, recovery keys, government identifiers, payment-card data, or unrelated sensitive content. The website does not use cross-site behavioral advertising or sell or share personal information for that purpose, so browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change its behavior. VirtualCam Pro is offered to a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If Brent learns that a child supplied personal information through a developer-controlled channel without required consent, he will take reasonable steps to delete it. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide access, correction, deletion, or appeal rights; use the privacy-request form or email support@brentgaddis.com. Identity may be verified, and requests will be handled as applicable law requires. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, with additional notice or consent when required.
